Rebranding a community coworking hub

Challenge

LaunchIt is a community hub that connects entrepreneurs, business owners and community members with information, space, and people they need to explore bold ideas and spark action.

LaunchIt celebrated its fifth anniversary in 2019 and – like most businesses and organizations – things had changed. Staff and the board of directors had a plan to shift their service model to create additional revenue streams and target underserved community members with more relevant programs and services – but LaunchIt’s existing brand and marketing were out of alignment with this new direction.

Solution

Creative Worth helped LaunchIt undergo a complete rebrand, including a new name, elevated mission, guiding values, vibrant brand style, minimalist logo, fresh copy, and a clear vision for what comes next. In short, we inspected every part of their rocket, and injected it with a serious dose of jet fuel, so they can support their clients and community in their exploration of business.

Impact

The LaunchIt brand and website launched in February 2020 – in perfect time to virtually support the community through the COVID-19 pandemic. With the new website and digital automations in place, they were able to reduce admin time spent on event planning and registration, grow their Facebook and Instagram audiences with timely and relevant information, and increase signups for digital training and webinars. They’ve also strengthened their network of workshop and training leaders, and solidified partnerships with two surrounding municipalities.

About the brand Design

A rocket is a universal visual representation of the word “launch”. No other icon provides an adequate identifying visual mark. But some rocket graphics can feel too “cartoon-y” and childish, or too tech-focused, which didn’t reflect LaunchIt’s new approach.

To counter this, we altered the uppercase letter forms of a minimalist sans serif type to create a strikingly simple rocket, and paired it with additional sans serif typefaces for a clean yet friendly feel.

A vibrant palette of near neon hues, hand-lettered accents, and imperfect star-themed patterns collaborate to create a modern, edgy, yet approachable brand identity that more accurately aligns with the organization’s direction and audiences.
